Timed Actions

This article explains how to set up Timed Actions — actions triggered at specific times and set up via Animation Timeline. These can be synchronized with your animations for complex interactions.

Timed actions can be used to create 'Complex Interactions' within your ads. This allows you to create ads which are truly engaging and memorable. To demonstrate how these ads can be setup, take a look at the example below:

How to Add a Timed Action

  • On the Actions row of the timeline, click the “+” button.

  • A small square labeled “0” will appear at the position of the playhead (the current time).

  • Select the square, then click the “Actions” button in the Animation Timeline (AT) top bar.

  • In the pop-up window, choose the action you want to add from the dropdown menu.

Types of Timed Actions

There are five types of timed actions available:

  • Show / Hide Element Display or hide a specific element at a chosen time.

  • Carousel Navigation For example: Navigate to the next or previous slide at a specific time. (Requires a carousel component in your creative.)

  • Animation Actions Useful when coordinating with element triggers. (i.e. you can use “Play Animation” or “Pause Animation) for interactive scenarios). Types of animation actions are:

    • Pause Animation

    • Restart Animation

    • Seek Animation (jump to a specific time in the animation)

Multiple Actions at the Same Time

  • You can add multiple actions to the same point in time.

  • The square on the timeline will display a number indicating how many actions are scheduled at that specific moment.
