Tagging in Responsive Ads

Tagging in ResponsiveAds helps you organize your creatives and make it easier to locate specific ads. Tags can be applied during the “New Creative” flow and edited later on the Summary Page if necessary. This section outlines the types of tags available and how they can be used to improve the management of your ads.

Why Use Tags?

Tags allow you to quickly find and manage your creatives by categorizing them in ways that make sense for your business. Whether you're organizing by advertiser, project, or where the ad will run, tags help streamline the creative workflow.

Types of Tags

1. Custom Tags

Custom Tags are the only tags that act like traditional tags. You can add them to highlight special creatives or for any other custom categorization you need. Custom Tags show up directly on the creative tile in the Creative List page, making it easy to find specific ads.

  • Example use case: You might tag high-performing creatives as "Top Performers."

  • Note: Keep tag text short to ensure it fits on the tile.

2. Advertiser

The Advertiser tag is a mandatory field and should ideally be used to signify the company or product the ad will promote. It is custom and allows you to type in any name, which will be added to your tag list.

  • Best practice: Ensure this tag is consistent across all creatives to avoid confusion in managing and reporting on campaigns.

3. Agency/Account

This tag is used to group creatives based on the agency or team managing the ad, or to separate different projects under the same advertiser.

  • Example use case: If multiple agencies or teams are working on different creatives for the same advertiser, use this tag to distinguish them.

4. Trafficking/Site/App

This tag helps you indicate where the ad will run—whether it's a particular site, app, or trafficking system.

  • Example use case: Use this when you have different creatives for specific placements (e.g., one version of an ad for a mobile app, another for a website).

5. Ad Category

The Ad Category tag is selected from a preset list and helps segment your creatives into different ad types or industry categories.

  • Example use case: You might categorize ads based on industries like "Retail," "Automotive," or "Technology."

6. Features

This tag identifies which specific ResponsiveAds features, like animations, videos, or interactive elements, are being used in a creative. These features are manually tagged by the user.

  • Note: Make sure to tag features correctly as they won’t be automatically added when saving the creative.

7. Format Type

This tag helps you find creatives based on the size pack and resizing rules (formats) used. For example, if a creative targets IAB slots, you can tag it with "IAB" for easy reference.

  • Automatic Tag: The "Formats Used" tag is automatically applied, showing the specific format size pack in the creative. However, the Format Type tag can be customized to provide a broader grouping for easier search.


Fixed Tags

Some tags are automatically applied and cannot be edited by the user. These include:

  • Formats Used: Automatically generated based on the size pack applied to the creative.

  • Feature Licenses: Indicates the features used in the creative that require specific licenses.

  • Origin: Indicates whether the creative was started from scratch or from a template.
