What is a Template?

A Template is a pre-built ad creative that includes one or more formats, providing a starting point for creating new creatives. It helps save time and development resources by offering a ready-to-use design framework, eliminating the need to start from scratch.

Many Templates are built using Fully-Fluid™ Formats, which automatically generate and adapt sizes. This feature makes it easier to add your own formats later, ensuring that layouts adjust seamlessly to different sizes. By using a Template, you can focus on customizing and refining your ad creative while relying on a strong foundational design.

Accessing the Templates Page

The Templates page can be accessed by clicking the 'Templates' tab in the App header.

The Sidebar

The sidebar on the Templates page

The sidebar is used for filtering the list of Templates. You can also choose whether or not you want to show any archived templates in the list.

Filter by:

  • Source - There are 2 sources of templates:

    • ResponsiveAds - native templates available for all users

    • My Templates - your unique templates that you own, and templates shared with you

  • Template Type- List of template types used in a given account. Template type refers to a combination of features used inside one template or to a specific distinct functionality. These are set-up by ResponsiveAds for Template tracking, usage and analytics. A very powerful way to establish benchmarks. For example: Content Portal-Lightbox, Flipbook, Full-Bleed Video, Pinpoint, Shoppable etc.

  • Classification - The complexity of a Template for usage. Types include:

    • Advanced - more sophisticated Templates.

    • Basic- has just the essential elements.

    • Blank - an empty framework with formats already setup.

    • Image Swap - templates that users can simply add images to use; very common for ad ops or markets at publishers to use.

  • Format - These are the Formats used in the Template. Eg. Fixed Height Fluid, Fully Fluid etc.

  • Category - Comprehensive list of categories like Beauty, Food & Beverages, Healthcare etc.

  • Features - List of all features available in the Fluid Designer like Video, Carousel, Podcast etc.

You can also check and see features of the template, by hovering over the “Feature” icon in the Primary menu, visible when hovering over a template.

Sub header

The 'Studio 3', 'Studio 4' and 'All' tabs in the sub header give you the ability to view only Templates designed using Creative Studio 3, only Templates designed using Creative Studio 4, or all Templates regardless of which version of Creative Studio was used to design them.

The 'Layouts', 'Themes' and 'All tabs in the sub header allow you to view either 'Layout' Templates which do not use branded content, 'Themes' Templates which use branded content to provide inspiration, or all Templates regardless of if branded content is used.

In addition, there is also a search bar which can be used to find a specific Template by name, as well as a sort dropdown which can be used to sort the list of Templates.
