How to Prepare your Photoshop PSD files for the Fluid Ad Creator
Many companies use Adobe Photoshop to design layout mockups or final visual designs for their ads for approval before building the ad unit itself. You can upload your Photoshop PSD file directly to ResponsiveAds Fluid Ad Creator, and your layers will be converted into adjustable elements.
There are some Photoshop features that are not supported by the Fluid Ad Creator, and some other considerations for moving from pixel-based design to a responsive design. Sometimes, you might not see what you expected when uploading a PSD to our tool. This page walks you through everything you need to know to get the best results when uploading your file.
File Size
Avoid uploading large Photoshop files to the Fluid Ad Creator, as they may fail to process correctly, or take over a minute to upload.
Recommended Size: Keep your layered PSD under 20 MB.
Good: Less than 10 MB.
Best: Less than 4 MB.
Design Size
The size of your canvas in Photoshop will define the size and placement of the assets that are uploaded to the Fluid Ad Creator.
It is good practice to verify which template or format the PSD will be uploaded to, and design at an aspect ratio that is included.
Design your PSD as the largest size you need. Smaller sizes will be created from this main design following the resizing rules set up in the Fluid Ad Creator.
Recommended PSD Design Sizes for Common Formats
Fully-Fluid Format:
PSD Design Size: 1920x1080
Fluid 250 or Fluid 400 Formats:
PSD Design Size: 2560x600 (Maximum design size)
IAB Pack:
PSD Design Size: 970x808 (Maximum asset quality for all sizes, laid out for 300x250 aspect ratio)

Best Practices for Preparing your PSD Contents
Organize your layers for responsive design: Evaluate which elements of your design will be positioned together in all sizes, and which elements need to move independently. E.g. combine Headline and Sub-headline in a group, and merge your background layers to one set image.
Include Additional Elements for Mobile: Ensure your design includes elements suitable for mobile sizes to enhance flexibility and responsiveness.
Reference Images: Incorporate any existing reference images of the complete design for all intended ad sizes to guide the resizing process.
Color Settings
Color Profile: Use sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
Color Space: Set to RGB/8.
Layer Preparation
Prepare all layers by following these guidelines:
Group or Merge Layers: Group layers when you want to have individually adjustable elements that resize as a group. Merge layers when you want a single image element.
Delete Hidden Layers: Remove any layers that are not visible.
Rasterize Layers: Rasterize layers with features like blending modes and adjustments to make sure your assets will appear as intended in the Fluid Ad Creator. Layers will be rasterized on upload, or discarded if unsupported.
Rename your Layers: Try to give descriptive names to your layers, so it is easier to identify them in the Fluid Ad Creator.

If you only have one layer in the .PSD file, export it as a JPG or PNG file and upload as a single Image Element.
