The Ad Tags (Deployments & Ad Serving) section allows users to create, manage, and publish ad tag deployments for their creative, which can be third-party served through ResponsiveAds.
For Ads served through RepsonsiveAds please note that Ad Serving fees apply.
There are differences in how multi-size formats are served depending on the platform:
Publisher Ad Servers (e.g., Google Ad Manager - GAM): Multi-size formats can expand to fit the page's width and display edge-to-edge, providing a fluid experience.
Agency Ad Servers or Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs): Serving multi-size formats via these platforms can require specific setup. For assistance with multi-size programmatic ad configurations, please contact support@responsiveads.com.
This section also supports the integration of custom trackers and third-party ad servers, offering advanced control over fluid, responsive multi-size ads. It includes premium features such as custom analytics and licensed web fonts.
Note: If you plan to use a Fully-Fluidβ’ creative for deployment, please consult with ResponsiveAds support. Not all DSPs are compatible with fully-fluid tags.
Buttons at the top of the table:
Download All Tags: Clicking this button downloads all ad tags related to the selected deployments. This is useful for batch export of all tags associated with the creative.
Dynamic Test Tag: This button generates a dynamic test tag for the creative, allowing users to test and validate ad performance and behavior in real-time before finalizing the deployment.
Preview All: Clicking this button allows users to preview all the creative formats in the selected deployments to check responsiveness and behavior before publishing. (Opens the Preview Screen)
Table Headings and buttons:
Deployment Name: By default you will have 1 deployment per each format you used in your creative. Those default deployments are called "default". You can customize these by clicking "edit deployment", or alternatively you can create a new deployment and customize it to your needs.
Format: Indicates the ad format for each deployment (there can be only one format per deployment), such as:
Page-Scrollerβ’ (100%)
Fully-Fluidβ’
Masthead (4x1-16x9)
Bill Board (970x250)
Fluid 250H
Square (300x250)
Layout Variant: Displays the layout variant used for the creative deployment. This field remains empty unless a specific layout variant is defined for the deployment.
Market: Placeholder for targeting specific markets. This field remains empty unless market targeting has been set up for a specific deployment.
Actions: Each deployment has several action icons:
Edit Deployment (Pencil Icon): Opens the deployment for editing, allowing users to configure or modify the deployment details.
Configure (Settings Icon): Allows users to access detailed settings related to ad serving and tracking.
Tag (Tag Icon): Clicking on this button opens a pop-up with a tag that you can copy and place on your page. In order to get an ad tag, you need to publish your ad.
Preview (Arrow Icon): Provides a live preview of the creative to ensure proper rendering before publication. (Opens the Preview Screen)
Delete (Trash Icon): Deletes the deployment from the list. Users should confirm before deletion as it cannot be undone.
Status: Displays the current status of the deployment. In this case, all deployments are marked as Draft, indicating that the deployment has not been published yet.
Publish All: Once all the configurations are finalized, users can click the Publish All button to make the ad deployments live. This will push the ads to the selected ad server or deployment platform.
New Deployment: Clicking this button opens a create new deployment configuration modal where users can create a new ad tag deployment for the creative. It allows the selection of formats, sizes, and other options specific to the deployment.
The Create New Deployment modal allows users to configure a new ad tag deployment for their creative. This modal provides options for selecting formats, layout variants, markets, and adding trackers for impression and clickthrough metrics. Here's how to use the modal:
Name: Enter a name for the deployment. By default, the system provides a name like "Deployment 7," but users can customize this name to better describe the deployment.
Format: Select the ad format for this deployment from the drop-down menu. Available formats include options such as Fully-Fluidβ’, ensuring the creative adjusts responsively across different devices and sizes.
Market: Select the market for which this deployment is intended. If market targeting is not required, this field can be left blank.
Impression Tracker: Add one or more impression trackers to the deployment. This feature allows users to track the number of times an ad is viewed:
Tracker Name: Enter a name for the tracker (e.g., "Tracker 1").
URL or Markup: Choose whether the impression tracker will use a URL or custom markup for tracking.
Add New Impression Tracker: Click this link to add additional impression trackers if needed.
Clickthrough URL: Enter the URL where users will be redirected when they click anywhere on the ad. Setting a Clickthrough URL in this deployment doesn't overwrite any individual clickthrough URLs youβve set up in the editor for specific elements (e.g., CTA buttons or Carousel slides), you will see those in the pop-up to edit deployment. However, if youβve set an overall Clickthrough URL in the Deployment Settings inside the editor, this deployment-level URL will take precedence and overwrite it.
Save/Cancel:
Save: After configuring the deployment, click Save to create the new deployment.
Cancel: Click Cancel to close the modal without saving changes.
